"Loss of Innocence" is a story of two resilient teenagers as they navigate through the tumultuous decades of the 1960's to the 1990's.
Weeks before Lacey Noble is scheduled to begin her freshman year of high school, her mother suddenly announces that they will be leaving their home in New York City and moving to a distant relative's farmhouse in rural Maryland. She hopes to escape the painful reminders of happier times when her husband, Lacey's father, was still alive and they were a close family. Lacey is shocked and devastated by the prospect of leaving everyone and everything familiar behind. She vehemently opposes relocating but she has no choice.
On the first day of school in Lexis, Maryland, Lacey meets Tom O'Malley, a brash, handsome, Irish boy. Their connection is intense, and their passions ignite. Their days are filled with tremendous joys, traumatic betrayals, personal hardships, and stupendous professional accomplishments. Their families meet and together they open the first mobile food truck in the area, Garden Fresh. After an arsonist burns it down, they regroup and create The Lexis Inn, a gourmet, farm-to-table restaurant which becomes a popular favorite.
After years of hard work and graduating from culinary school, Tom earns a coveted Michelin Star and becomes a well-known celebrity chef, cooking in different restaurants throughout the country. Lacey inherits her great Aunt Evelyn's farmhouse and successfully converts it into a prestigious B&B, and eventually into a nationally known resort and spa.
Throughout the years, dancing has always tied Lacey and Tom together. Rock & Roll music became their refuge in troubled times and their means of celebration in moments of joy. As the two teenagers mature, unforeseen and hurtful circumstance force them to part ways. Leading separate lives, but always with love for the other, Lacey and Tom evolve from innocent youths to compelling, interesting adults with families of their own.
